 Coretta Scott King was born on April 27th 1927. She was an American author, activist, civil rights leader, and the wife of Martin Luther King Jr. from 1953 until his death in 1968. Coretta Scott King helped lead the American Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s. Coretta met her Husband in college. In her early life Coretta was an accomplished singer. She would often incorporate music into her civil rights work.
